Let the building begin. LEMA Construction, Tampa-based Bendin Road Development, Rhode Island-based Landings Group, and BDG Architecture kicked off the construction of 701 Whiting with a fantastic Groundbreaking.
One block from the $4B master planned co-development between Jeff Vinik and Bill Gates, another set of partners curate micro-apartment units. Tampa-based Bendin Road Development and Rhode Island-based Landings Group purchased the 1/4 of an acre site last year for $1.7M.
Last week they received a $17M construction loan from Berkshire Bank, according to the Hillsborough County Clerk of Court. The proposed 8-story building will rise approximately 100 feet, yielding gross square footage of +/-62,000 GSF. Spanning across the building will feature 104 studio-sized apartments that range from 400 to 450 square feet.
As micro-unit apartments become popular in Tampa, the Whiting development will make space functional using Ori Inc… This Brooklyn-based smart space company designs multi-functional, robotic-powered interior solutions. The apartment building will feature 72 bicycle parking spaces. Residential amenities include a fitness center, shared office spaces, a gaming lounge area, and a rooftop pool.
