Drones is Construction Management: An Aerial View of The Future

Drones in Construction Management

Drones are frequently used to capture images and video to show clients and use in marketing materials, today drones are becoming more commonplace with construction being the fastest-growing commercial industry adopting drones, with use surging 239% in the past year.

Drones improve surveying efficiency and accuracy, as well as infrared thermal sensors to find HVAC energy-efficiency opportunities, capture cloud points that then incorporate into BIM and photogrammetry capabilities to monitor sites and provide information about job progress.

It was a pleasure working with LEMA Construction on the Plantation Club House in Tampa, FL. LEMA communicated with our office and the Owner on a weekly basis to provide updates. Their personal attention and commitment to the project’s value and quality kept the Owner, Architect and Subcontractors running professionally and efficiently. I would recommend LEMA for future projects and welcome their participation to serve our clients here at Aude Smith.

It is my pleasure to recommend LEMA Construction to anyone undertaking any construction projects. St. Petersburg College worked with LEMA Construction on the Douglas L. Jamerson, Jr. Midtown Center, an exemplary 52,000 sf, three-story education and community center. As with any project, communication is key and the LEMA team provided consistent updates and were fully committed to delivering the project on schedule and on budget. I recommend LEMA without reservation and look forward to working with them on future projects.

I have worked with LEMA Construction on two projects at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Physician’s Office Building project was the complete renovation of a 4-story, 65,000 sf medical office building. LEMA worked very well with staff and patients to safely maintain adjacent occupied spaces with as little impact as possible. They kept a constant line of communication open with everyone involved, and had competent superintendents on site to oversee the work. LEMA Construction did a great job on both projects!
