Building the Future with Haddy’s 3D Printing Furniture Factory in St. Petersburg

In the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida, a revolutionary new chapter in advanced manufacturing has officially begun—thanks in large part to the expert craftsmanship and execution of LEMA Construction. The newly opened Haddy furniture factory, now recognized as the world’s largest 3D printing facility, stands as a powerful symbol of innovation, sustainability, and progress.

Spanning 32,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art factory is more than just a production space. It’s a high-tech hub powered by artificial intelligence and robotics, purpose-built to redefine how furniture is made and what modern manufacturing can look like. LEMA Construction played a pivotal role in bringing this ambitious project to life—transforming vision into reality with precision and forward-thinking construction practices.

The grand opening of the facility marked a proud moment for the city, attended by civic leaders and global innovators alike. St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch hailed the project as a milestone not just for Haddy, but for the entire community.

“Haddy’s commitment to local manufacturing utilizing the latest technologies – and a commitment to sustainability – is a stellar example of what progress will look like, not only in the City of St. Petersburg but for our nation and worldwide,” said Mayor Welch.

The event also drew international attention. Dr. Karsten Heuser, Vice President of Additive Manufacturing at Siemens AG, traveled from Germany to attend, highlighting Siemens’ role in powering Haddy’s operations with advanced automation software. His presence underscored the global significance of this local achievement.

With LEMA Construction at the helm of the build, the Haddy facility stands as a shining example of what’s possible when cutting-edge technology meets construction expertise. From the ground up, every element was designed and delivered to support a smarter, more sustainable future for manufacturing.

As Haddy begins production, the ripple effects are already being felt—creating jobs, advancing green technology, and putting St. Petersburg on the map as a leader in next-generation manufacturing.

LEMA Construction is proud to have built more than a facility—we’ve helped build the future.
